DTE Energy Supply Seeks to Serve Small Volume Customers

DTE Energy Supply, Inc. has applied for an amended Pennsylvania electric supplier license to include service to commercial customers under 25 kW in all service areas. DTE Energy Supply's current license allows it to serve all other non-residential customers in all service territories. Also indicative of a new small volume marketing effort, DTE Energy Supply said that it would now use door-to-door sales in Pennsylvania.

Vivint Seeks Maryland Supplier License

Vivint, Inc. has filed an application for a license to supply electricity or electric generation services in Maryland. A copy of the application was not immediately available. It was not immediately clear if Vivint is seeking the license solely due to its energy management services (due to the PSC holding that any company "marketing" electricity must be licensed as a supplier, including curtailment service providers), or whether Vivint is seeking to become a load serving entity. Vivint recently entered into an affinity partnership with Constellation (10/24).

UtiliTech Receives Broker License

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted UtiliTech, Inc d/b/a UtiliTech of PA an electric broker/aggregator license to serve commercial, mercantile, and industrial customers in all service areas. The application was first reported in Matters (11/17)

Atlantic Power Partners Receives Broker License

The Maine PUC granted Atlantic Power Partners, LLC an electric broker/aggregator license to serve all customer classes at the three investor-owned utilities and Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative. The application was first reported in Matters (12/8)
