Hess Small Business Services Seeks New License

Hess Small Business Services, LLC has applied for an Ohio natural gas supplier license to serve all customer classes at Dominion East Ohio and Columbia Gas, and to serve all sizes of non-residential customers at Duke Energy Ohio. Hess Small Business Services supplies gas to approximately 3,000 customers in New York and New Jersey. Parent Hess Corporation is already active in serving large customers in Ohio, and serving Standard Choice Offer and Standard Service Offer load.

BP Energy Company Receives Retail Supplier License

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has granted BP Energy Company a natural gas supplier license to serve all sizes of non-residential customers at Columbia Gas. The application was first reported in Matters (12/7).

Independence Energy Group Receives New License

A final Connecticut PURA decision granted Independence Energy Group LLC an electric supplier license to serve residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The application had been first reported in Matters (11/9). Independence Energy Group is the network marketing arm of Energy Plus, now a unit of NRG Energy.
