FERC Intends to Revoke Market-Based Authority of 70 Companies, Including Active Retail Suppliers

FERC intends to revoke the market-based rate authority of 70 "public utilities," including several competitive retail suppliers, if the entities do not file electronic market-based rate tariffs within 60 days.

The affected market-based rate sellers are listed below. Although some of the retail suppliers listed below are inactive (either not serving load or using another legal entity not on the list to serve load), others are active and serving load with the entity or entities included on the list.

As part of FERC's transition to electronic tariffs, all companies with a tariff of general applicability on file with the FERC, which includes a market-based rate tariff, were required to make a baseline filing of their currently effective tariff by September 30, 2010.

A FERC Staff review of the baseline tariff submittals indicated that the 70 public utilities below with authority to sell electric power at market-based rates have failed to file their baseline tariffs.

FERC ordered that these public utilities' market-based rate authorizations will be revoked unless they comply with the Commission's requirements within 60 days.
