Residential Migration Continues to Slow at BGE

Residential migration continues to slow at Baltimore Gas & Electric, according to the latest statistics from the Maryland PSC.

From the end of November to end of December, BGE saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by about 2,750 accounts, down from growth of 3,100 accounts during November, and growth of 4,100 accounts during October.
At Pepco, the growth rate for residential migration was up marginally during December, with net growth of 800 residential accounts on competitive supply, versus growth of 730 accounts during November.
Potomac Edison saw its first month of net growth in the number of residential customers on competitive supply in the past four months, with net growth of 330 residential accounts. In the previous four months, Potomac Edison had marginal decreases in the number of residential customers on competitive supply, with a net loss of 66 residential customers on competitive supply during November.
Delmarva saw its second consecutive month of a marginal decrease in the number of residential customers on competitive supply. In December, Delmarva saw a net loss of 17 residential customers on competitive supply, versus the November net loss of 130 accounts.
Residential migration as a percent of accounts as of December 2011 was:
BGE: 23.4%
Delmarva: 10.1%
Pepco: 20.7%
Potomac Edison: 7.3%
