National Grid Only Massachusetts Territory to See Measurable Increase in Electric Migration during February

National Grid's Massachusetts Electric territory was the only service area in Massachusetts that saw a measurable increase in the number of residential customers taking competitive electric supply during the month of February.

In February, Massachusetts Electric saw net growth of about 3,050 non-low-income residential customers on competitive supply, versus the January total. This is slightly higher than the growth of 2,800 non-low-income residential seen in January.
Additionally, Massachusetts Electric saw growth of nearly 1,000 low income residential customers on competitive supply during February
At Nstar's Commonwealth Electric territory, non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply decreased by about 400 accounts in February, versus growth of 300 accounts in January. At Nstar's Boston Edison territory, non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply decreased by 35 accounts in February, versus a loss of 250 accounts a month ago.
Fitchburg Gas & Electric, which saw growth of nearly 3,800 non-low-income residential electric accounts on competitive supply in January, did not repeat the growth in February, with a marginal loss of 40 accounts during February.
