PPL Sees Acceleration in Loss of Residential Customers on Competitive Supply

PPL saw a large jump in the net loss of residential customers on competitive supply during the most recent week, according to the most recent data from the Pennsylvania PUC.

From April 1 to April 7, PPL saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply decrease by 1,300 accounts, versus the loss of 400 accounts in the immediately prior week.

In the most recent week, PECO saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 1,400 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 1,250.

Duquesne Light saw residential migration grow by 600 accounts in the most recent week, less than half of the growth of 1,300 accounts seen in the immediately prior week

Data for the FirstEnergy EDCs was not included in the April 4 report, so a week-ago comparison is unavailable.

Over the past two weeks, growth in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at the FirstEnergy EDCs has been:

Met-Ed: +4,850

Penelec: +3,430

Penn Power: +426

West Penn Power: +1,958
