Residential Migration to Competitive Supply Slows at ComEd During March; Accelerates at Ameren

Residential customers at Commonwealth Edison who have switched to a competitive supplier and completed at least one billing cycle on competitive supply increased by 23,000 accounts during the month of March, according to the latest statistics from the Illinois Commerce Commission.

As previously noted, the ICC statistics linked below show customers who have switched to a competitive supplier and have completed at least one billing cycle on competitive supply. Accordingly, the data lags completed enrollments.

As of the end of March, 344,217 residential customers at ComEd had completed at least one billing cycle on competitive supply, compared with 320,744 as of the end of February.

The net growth of 23,000 ComEd residential customers billed on competitive supply during March is about half of the February growth, which was 50,000.

Residential customers at Ameren who have switched to a competitive supplier and have completed at least one billing cycle on competitive supply as of the end of March were as follows:

Rate Zone I, AmerenCIPS: 21,144

Rate Zone II, AmerenCILCO: 10,319

Rate Zone III, AmerenIP: 35,717

The net growth in residential accounts billed on competitive supply at Ameren during March, compared to the February totals, was as follows:

Rate Zone I, AmerenCIPS: +4,041

Rate Zone II, AmerenCILCO: +1,714

Rate Zone III, AmerenIP: +5,737

For comparison, the residential migration growth in each Ameren territory during February had been:

Rate Zone I, AmerenCIPS: +2,816

Rate Zone II, AmerenCILCO: +1,655

Rate Zone III, AmerenIP: +5,139

Migration to competitive supply in the ComEd under 100 kW commercial class increased by 2,000 accounts during March, versus the February total, which compares to growth of 4,300 during February.
