Tara Energy has expanded its retail electric offerings outside of Texas.
Specifically, the subsidiary of Just Energy Group Inc. is now offering residential electric service at Commonwealth Edison.
At ComEd, Tara Energy is offering a 36-month fixed rate of 6.99 cents per kWh. The product includes an early termination fee of $50.
Tara Energy has also expanded to Ontario, Canada, offering residential customers a Time of Use electricity product and a type of flat bill natural gas product.
Specifically, under the Predict-a-Bill Natural Gas Program, the customer's bill will be a monthly natural gas supply price of $29.99/month (Canadian $), plus a variable natural gas supply price for consumption above 3,300 m3 in a year. The flat $29.99 does not include transportation, storage, taxes or additional utility charges.
The Predict-a-Bill program is offered for various term lengths up to a three year term; however, the flat monthly natural gas supply price may be reviewed and adjusted by Tara Energy on an annual basis based on the customer's consumption pattern in the past 12 months and natural gas prices available to Tara Energy, plus its marketing and overhead charges and margin. The monthly natural gas supply price will never exceed $79.99/month during the initial term.
The variable natural gas supply price for any usage above the set threshold will not exceed 29.9¢/m3 during the initial term.
Ontario customers installing certain conservation measures from Just Energy's National Home Services division, such as a qualifying water heater or qualifying furnace, may eligible for a 10% discount on their flat monthly natural gas supply price
Commercial service is also available in each market.
