Ambit Energy Receives License in New State

The Pennsylvania PUC this morning granted Ambit Northeast, LLC a natural gas supplier license to serve residential customers and commercial customers using less than 6,000 Mcf annually at UGI Central Penn, UGI Penn Natural, UGI Utilities, National Fuel Gas Distribution Corp., Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Inc, Equitable Gas Company, and Peoples Natural Gas Company LLC. Following Three Recent Market Entries, Liberty Power Intends to Serve Residential Customers in New State

Liberty Power Holdings, LLC informed the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio that it intends to serve residential customers in the service territories of Ohio Edison, Toledo Edison, Cleveland Electric Illuminating, Duke Energy Ohio, Ohio Power (including the former Columbus Southern Power territory), and Dayton Power & Light. In Liberty Power's original license application filed in 2006, it had stated an intent to serve only commercial, mercantile, and industrial customers. As first reported by Matters, Liberty has recently expanded its residential offerings to Connecticut, Maryland, and New Jersey, and in doing so said that it, "has plans to expand its residential program into additional markets later this year."

The Eric Ryan Corporation Receives New License

The Maine PUC granted The Eric Ryan Corporation an electric aggregator/broker license to serve medium and large non-residential customers in the service territories of Central Maine Power Company, Bangor Hydro-Electric Company, and Maine Public Service Company. The application had been first reported in Matters.
