Affiliate of Largest U.S. Consumer Energy Buying Group Receives Broker License

An affiliate of Heaney Energy Corp. (Heat USA), which describes itself as the largest consumer energy buying consortium in the United States, has been licensed as an Ohio natural gas broker/aggregator as part of its entry into the retail electricity and natural gas brokering business.

The market entry and Ohio application had been first reported by Matters.

The affiliate, Little Deep LLC d/b/a Power USA, has also filed aggregator, broker, and/or marketer applications in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Little Deep LLC also plans to provide similar services in Illinois.

Heat USA currently serves 80,000 members in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, providing referrals to heating oil and propane suppliers

Heat USA in particular offers affinity programs for various unions, and Little Deep LLC said that it, "plans to use its relationships with unions and other consumer groups to provide referrals to discounted energy supplier."

In Ohio, for natural gas, Little Deep LLC received authority to serve residential customers in all service areas.
