Nstar Boston Edison Territory Sees Large Jump in Residential Shopping

Nstar's Boston Edison territory saw a law jump in the number of residential electric customers taking competitive supply during March, according to the latest stats from the Massachusetts DPU.

During March, Nstar's Boston Edison territory saw the number of non-low income residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 5,700 versus the February total. This reverses the net loss of 35 non-low income residential shoppers seen during February.

Additionally, during March, Boston Edison saw the number of low income residential customers on competitive supply increase by 366, versus the month-ago growth of 39.

Nstar's Commonwealth Electric territory saw the number of non-low income residential customers on competitive electric supply decline by 419 during March, about even with the loss of non-low income residential shoppers seen during February.

National Grid's Massachusetts Electric territory saw the number of non-low income residential electric customers on competitive electric supply increase by 3,000 during March, and the number of low income residential customers on competitive supply increase by 1,100. These monthly growth totals are about even with the growth seen in the territory during February.

During March, Western Massachusetts Electric Company saw the number of non-low income residential electric customers on competitive electric supply increase by 1,139 versus the February total, reversing the decline of 60 non-low income residential shoppers seen in February.
