Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has endorsed putting an opt-out municipal electric aggregation program for the city on the November ballot.
The City Council's Finance Committee is scheduled to vote on the issue this Friday.
The measure is being sponsored by Finance Committee Chairman Edward Burke and Alderman Pat O'Connor, two influential aldermen.
Emanuel specifically said that not only would he support the measure but that he would be an "advocate" for aggregation.
