May Residential Migration Growth at Massachusetts Electric Nearly Triples April Growth

National Grid's Massachusetts Electric territory saw the monthly growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply triple during May, versus the growth recorded in April, according to the May DPU electric migration stats which have just been made available.

From April to May, Massachusetts Electric saw the number of non-low income residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by about 8,300, nearly triple the April growth of 3,000.

From April to May, Massachusetts Electric saw the number of low income residential customers on competitive supply increase by 3,100, nearly double the April growth of 1,600.

During May, Nstar's Boston Edison territory saw the number of non-low income residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 2,200 from the April total, versus month-ago growth of 1,000. Additionally, during May, Boston Edison saw the number of low income residential customers on competitive supply increase by 735, versus the month-ago growth of 454.

During May, Nstar's Commonwealth Electric territory saw its first net increase in the number of non-low income residential customers on competitive electric supply in several months, with growth of 556 during May versus the April total. In April, Commonwealth Electric had seen a net decline of 79 non-low income residential customers on competitive electric supply.

Furthermore, Commonwealth Electric saw the number of low income residential customers on competitive supply increase by 200 during May.

During May, Western Massachusetts Electric Company saw the number of non-low income residential electric customers on competitive electric supply increase by 1,300, versus the April growth of 850.

Additionally, WMECO saw the number of low income residential customers on competitive supply increase by 1,500 during April.
