Weekly Increase in Residential Shopping at PPL Grows to Thousands

During the final two weeks of June, PPL Electric saw net growth in residential shopping totaling in the thousands.

From June 17 to June 30, PPL saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 4,000, to 498,500. A weekly breakdown of the growth was not available.

After a decline in residential shopping through much of early 2012, PPL has seen weekly growth in residential shopping each week since early May, but until now the growth had been much slower (below 1,000 accounts each week).

From June 27 to July 3, PECO saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 1,150 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 1,400.

From June 28 to July 5 (8 days), Met-Ed saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 1,300 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 1,200.

From June 28 to July 5 (8 days), Penelec saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 622 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 436.

From June 28 to July 5 (8 days), West Penn Power saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 691 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 680.

From June 28 to July 5 (8 days), Penn Power saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply decline by 6 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 62.

From June 24 to June 30, Duquesne Light saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 900 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 1,100.
