TXU Offering Sweepstakes With Jackpot Tied to Daily High Temperature

TXU Energy is offering up to $10,000 under a Beat the Heat sweepstakes whose value is pegged to the state's hottest temperature. Specifically, the jackpot will grow each day through Sept. 29 by the amount of the state’s hottest temperature (a 99-degree day will put $99 in the prize). One winner will be selected in a random drawing in early October for a minimum prize of $7,500. New TXU customers are automatically entered in the sweepstakes; Texans may also enter through several social media sites and by mail.


Parties Agree to Defer FERC Proceeding on Indiana Michigan Power FRR Capacity Charge

Indiana Michigan Power Company filed an unopposed motion at FERC to defer the procedural schedule of the FERC proceeding examining a cost-based capacity rate for capacity provided to retail suppliers under the I&M Fixed Resource Requirement such that the Track II hearing proceeding commences October 1. The deferral was agreed to in light of the Michigan's PSC's intent to adopt a state compensation mechanism to price FRR capacity by September 30, 2012.


Melissa Mabe Named Senior Energy Consultant at Amerex Energy Services

Amerex Energy Services has named Melissa Mabe as a Senior Energy Consultant. Mabe will report to Jeff Shoaf, SVP of Amerex Energy Services and will be based in Houston where she will focus on new customer development among other duties. Mabe has over 10 years of direct sales and indirect sales experience in the deregulated electricity and natural gas markets. She most recently comes to Amerex from Spark Energy, where she served as Director, Indirect Sales among other roles, and prior to that she spent over seven years at GDF Suez Energy, N.A. Amerex Energy Services is a division of Amerex Brokers LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GFI Group Inc.
