FirstEnergy Solutions Launches Seven-Year Fixed Rates, Promoting with $1 Million Giveaway

FirstEnergy Solutions is offering customers an electric rate fixed for seven years in Ohio.

Specifically, FirstEnergy Solutions is offering Ohio residential customers a rate of 6.99¢/kWh fixed through December 2019.

The seven-year fixed offer of 6.99¢/kWh is available in all Ohio service areas: Cleveland Electric Illuminating, Toledo Edison, Ohio Edison, AEP Ohio, Duke Energy Ohio, and Dayton Power & Light.

An early termination fee of $295 applies.

A four-year fixed rate of 6.49¢/kWh through December 2016 is also available to residential customers in each service area.

Seven and four-year fixed rates are also available for businesses.

Additionally, FirstEnergy Solutions is promoting the offers with a $1 million giveaway, with eight $25,000 prizes to individual winners, eight $50,000 prizes to Ohio businesses, and eight $50,000 donations to schools.

The $50,000 donation to schools will be made to the local district of each of the eight residential winners. FirstEnergy Solutions accordingly encourages residential customers to inform their school districts of the offers, and said that it is creating an online PTA Kit, "with everything schools need to promote the giveaway."
