Shipley Energy to Expand to Load Serving Retail Electric Supply

Shipley Choice LLC d/b/a Shipley Energy applied for a Pennsylvania electric generation supplier license as a supplier of electricity, aggregator, and broker/marketer serving all customer classes in all service areas. An affiliate, Shipley Energy Company, currently holds a Pennsylvania broker/marketer license, but Shipley Choice LLC confirmed that it will "directly supply" electricity to customers as a load serving entity. The focus will be on serving residential customers initially at PPL, followed by Met-Ed and PECO, and then the remaining major utilities. Shipley Choice is an active retail natural gas supplier in the Pennsylvania market, and also offers various other fuels such as heating oil and propane, and related services

As only reported by Matters, Eligo Energy is a start-up retail supplier seeking licenses in seven states (click to see other states).
