Texas retail provider Frontier Utilities announced that it is offering a new electricity plan called Pink Power that helps Texans support breast cancer research through their purchase of electric supply.

Effective immediately, when a customer switches to Frontier Utilities and signs up for one of the Pink Power electricity plans, a monthly donation will be sent to the Houston affiliate of Susan G. Komen.

The monthly donation is based on customer usage while on the Pink Power plan, with a guaranteed annual donation of at least $50.

Monthly donations will be 0.3¢ per kWh used each month. A home using 2,000 kWh per month would generate a $72 annual donation.

The Pink Power affinity program can be elected with a variety of plans, including plans with varying terms of fixed pricing, variable pricing, and renewable energy.

"We are excited about partnering with the Houston affiliate of Susan G. Komen and offering electricity customers the ability to lower the price they pay for electricity while also supporting the race for the cure," said Jay Hellums, President and CEO of Frontier Utilities.

Frontier has established a dedicated website for the product, www.pinkpowertx.com
