Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU 13) and Direct Energy have partnered to offer a discounted rate for residential electricity supply to PPL customers located in Lancaster and Lebanon counties.

The program, which will be marketed to residents as The Direct Choice Program, is an extension of IU 13's Electricity Procurement Program currently provided to school districts in the two-county area.

The Direct Choice Program is an agreement between Direct Energy and Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 that allows residents and small businesses located within Lancaster and Lebanon counties to lock in their electricity supply rate price for a specified period of time.

In early December, a mailing will be sent to all residents in the two counties outlining the details of the program along with enrollment instruction.

The Direct Choice program offers:

• Fixed rate of $0.0699 kWh for a full 12 months

• Fixed rate of $0.0689 kWh for a full 12 months for senior citizens age 65 and older

• No cancellation fees

• A portion of the proceeds from participation in the Direct Choice Program will be reinvested to support school districts and public education in Lancaster and Lebanon counties.

Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU 13) provides both direct educational services and educational support services for Lancaster and Lebanon counties' 22 school districts, as well as for adult education students, nonpublic schools, and preschoolers and their families.
