From December 5 to December 11, PECO saw the total number of customers on competitive supply decline by 24 accounts, according to the PUC's statistics. This follows a decline of 65 shopping customers in the immediately prior week.
Although the net change is not large, and could be accounted for due to changes in energized distribution accounts (rather than an affirmative return of customers to default supply), two consecutive weeks of declining shopping (and the meager residential growth noted below) at what had recently been the most active territory should give pause, especially in light of the only modest changes Pennsylvania has proposed as its "end state" market design.
For the most recent week, the loss of shopping customers at PECO was isolated to the commercial and industrial classes, which saw a decline of 79 and 1 shopping customers, respectively.
Among residential customers, PECO saw migration to competitive supply increase by a mere 56 accounts from December 5 to December 11, versus the week-ago growth of 14 accounts.
PPL saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 289 accounts from December 2 to December 8, down from the week-ago growth of 1,500 accounts.
From December 6 to December 12, West Penn Power saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 1,750 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 2,000 accounts.
From December 6 to December 12, Met-Ed saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by over 1,000 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 968 accounts.
From December 6 to December 12, Penelec saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 900 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 1,000 accounts.
During the most recent week, Duquesne Light saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 737 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 623 accounts.
From December 6 to December 12, Penn Power saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 240 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 280 accounts.
