Update/Clarification on Viking Energy Management, LLC in Illinois
On Friday, Matters reported that the Illinois Commerce Commission had opened a proceeding regarding Viking Energy Management, LLC and whether its ABC license should be suspended for allegedly failing to file an annual report. Viking Energy Management was acquired by NUS Consulting in 2011. NUS Consulting is up to date on its Illinois reporting obligations, and had intended to operate solely under the NUS license and cease activity under the Viking license. NUS said it would be following up with the ICC to address this matter
Liberty Power Recognized for Growth
Liberty Power announced that it is part of the inaugural class of Inc.'s Hire Power Awards honorees, recognizing the private businesses that have generated the most jobs over a three-year time period. Liberty Power said that it is the only retail electricity supplier to be named a Hire Power Award honoree. The company was recognized on several Hire Power category lists after generating 184 jobs in total during 2009, 2010, and 2011. Liberty Power placed fifth among the top 10 private business job creators within the energy industry, placed eighth among the top 10 private business job creators within the state of Florida, and ranks eighth among companies with $500M - $1 billion in revenues.
