Reliant Offering Free Month to New Customers

Reliant is offering new Texas customers a free month of electricity, after 12 months of service.

Under Reliant's "Sweet Deal" plan, Reliant will automatically post a credit for the full cost of "electricity charges" on the 13th monthly bill. Specifically, the credit does not include nonrecurring electricity charges, including but not limited to, disconnect fees and late fees.

The credit is based on the customer's actual usage in the 13th month (as opposed to a credit based on an average or historical usage), and there is no limit on the amount of the credit provided.

In the Oncor service area, the Sweet Deal plan is a 13-month fixed rate with an average all-in per kWh rate of 13.2¢/kWh (based on 1,000 kWh usage per month). This reflects an energy charge of 9.4¢/kWh plus TDU charges of $6.48 per month and 3.1503¢/kWh. A monthly fee of $9.95 applies in billing cycles in which usage is less than 800 kWh.

In the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric service area, the Sweet Deal plan is a 13-month fixed rate with an average all-in per kWh rate of 13.3¢/kWh (based on 1,000 kWh usage per month). This reflects an energy charge of 8.9¢/kWh plus TDU charges of $9.45 per month and 3.4869¢/kWh. A monthly fee of $9.95 applies in billing cycles in which usage is less than 800 kWh.

An early termination fee of $150 applies.
