BGE Seeing Consistent Growth in Residential Shopping

Baltimore Gas & Electric saw another consistent month of strong growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply, according to new stats posted by the Maryland PSC

Matters has also developed a comparison of the change in residential accounts on competitive supply from November to December.

From November 30, 2012 to December 31, 2012, BGE saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 4,700 accounts, in line with the November growth of 5,100 accounts and October growth of 4,800 accounts.
In contrast, Pepco continued to see marginal growth in residential shopping. From November 30, 2012 to December 31, 2012, Pepco saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 566 accounts, down from the November growth of 634 accounts and the October growth of 844 accounts.
From November 30, 2012 to December 31, 2012, Potomac Edison saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 1,000 accounts, versus the November growth of 1,500 accounts.
From November 30, 2012 to December 31, 2012, Delmarva saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 163 accounts, down sharply from the November growth of 762 accounts.
As a percent of residential electric customers, Maryland migration to competitive supply was as follows for the month ending December 2012:
BGE: 27.2%
Delmarva: 16.0%
Pepco: 23.8%
Potomac Edison: 12.9%
