Start-up Retail Supplier Led by Founder of Champion Energy, Georgia Natural Gas Receives New License

A start-up retail supplier led by the founder of Champion Energy and Georgia Natural Gas has received a retail supplier license in a new state.

Specifically, the Michigan PSC granted Michigan Natural Gas, LLC an alternative natural gas supplier license.

As first reported by Matters, Michigan Natural Gas is a start-up owned by Cliff J. Hare, who serves as Chairman and CEO.

From 1987 until 2003, Hare held various roles at Dynegy, Inc., including President of Energy Marketing, North America. During his time at Dynegy, Hare founded and served on the Board of Directors of Georgia Natural Gas, the largest unregulated natural gas company in the State of Georgia.

In 2003, Hare was a co-founder of Eagle Energy Partners, a major North American natural and power marketing company located in Houston, Texas. While at Eagle, Hare co-founded and served as the Board liaison to Champion Energy Services.

Lance Jordan serves as Manager of Sales and Marketing for Michigan Natural Gas. Jordan has held a variety of roles at Dynegy, Louis Dreyfus, Deutsche Bank, and CenterPoint Energy.
