Pennsylvania did not repeat the shocking week-ago decline in aggregate residential shopping, but still recorded one of its lowest levels of residential shopping growth and is still seeing two utilities lose residential customers on competitive supply, according to the most recent stats from the PUC.
From about May 9 to May 15 (reporting date varies slightly by utilities), Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 2,100. That's one of the lowest weekly growth levels since weekly stats were first published two years ago, but is a significant turn-around from the week-ago loss of 228 residential customers on competitive supply.
PPL and Duquesne Light continue to see a net decline in residential customers on competitive supply.
Specifically, the weekly net growth (loss) in residential shoppers at each utility from about May 9 to about May 15 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was as follows:
Duquesne Light (5) Met-Ed 1,109 PECO 526 Penelec 381 Penn Power 26 PPL (385) West Penn Power 464
