Reliant Now Offering Generators to Residential Customers

Reliant has begun marketing to Texas customers home generators, as part of its home solutions line of products.

At this time, Reliant's home generator solution is geared to helping customers determining which generator is best for their needs, and then showing them how to get one, manufactured by a third party, through Reliant's online store. At this time, there does not appear to be any integration with Reliant's retail electric supply products.

Reliant's website compares different types of generator solutions, including natural gas portable, propane portable, gasoline fueled, and whole house. Reliant's site includes information on the wattage of various appliances to help customers determine the needed capacity.

As previously reported, Reliant's home solutions line of products also includes home energy check-ups; A/C, utility line, and surge protection warranty/guard plans; HVAC tune-up services; air filter replacement services; and identity protection.

Parent NRG Energy offers various distributed generation services to non-residential customers.
