Fitchburg Gas and Electric (Unitil) reported to the Massachusetts DPU that it has reached an agreement with retail suppliers regarding implementation of purchase of receivables prior to implementation of a new Customer Information System.
Unitil has said that the new billing system is expected to be fully operational in early 2015.
As a result, Unitil and competitive suppliers have been discussing a "permanent solution" to POR implementation that would be operational before the new CIS goes into effect.
Unitil said in a June 14 letter that, "as of this date, the Company and the Competitive Suppliers have reached agreement on the permanent solution proposed by Unitil."
No substantive details regarding the agreement were provided.
Unitil said that it believes that additional opportunity for discussion will prove beneficial to resolve remaining technical issues, if any, and requested that it be granted until July 31, 2013 to continue discussions with the competitive suppliers.
