Texas Coalition for Affordable Power Announces New Members
The Texas Coalition for Affordable Power, an aggregation consortium, announced the addition of five new members, bringing its roster to 169. New members are the City of Manvel, City of Bangs, City of Venus, City of Aubrey, and Acton Municipal Utility District. TCAP said that the new members serve a population of over 25,000, and that all are located at the fringe of urban areas that are expected to rapidly develop over the next few years.
Consolidated Edison Expanding Natural Gas Service
Consolidated Edison announced a series of initiatives to encourage customers to switch to natural gas for heating and other uses, including the extension and expansion of mains which would provide customers with access to natural gas service for the first time, which would increase customers eligible for natural gas choice as well. The infrastructure expansion program is being undertaken in Manhattan and the Bronx, and includes new mains and other distribution assets in parts of Mount Eden, Laconia & Pelham Gardens, Riverdale, Fordham, Morrisania, Crotona Park, Concourse Village and Soundview in the Bronx, and the Upper West Side, Midtown South, Inwood, Washington Heights and Upper East Side in Manhattan. ConEd plans to further expand its infrastructure over the next seven years throughout its New York City gas service territory in Manhattan, Bronx and parts of Queens.
