Champion Energy Announces New Market Entry Dates in Naming New Hire

Champion Energy Services announced the forthcoming launch of service in two new states as part of announcing a new hire.

Specifically, a news release concerning the hire noted that Champion Energy, "plans to begin serving customers in the District of Columbia and Delaware in the fourth quarter of 2013."

As first reported by Matters, Champion Energy received its District of Columbia electric supplier license in July. Champion Energy does not yet appear on the Delaware list of certified electric suppliers.

Champion Energy currently serves residential, governmental, commercial, and industrial customers in deregulated electric energy markets in Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey; governmental, commercial, and industrial customers in Ohio, Maryland, and New York; and natural gas customers in Illinois

Service to non-residential customers in New York has been newly added by Champion, and a start in the third quarter of 2013 for this market had been first reported by Matters

Champion Energy named Jeff Young as Vice President of Information Technology and Controls. Young will be responsible for Champion's existing Information Technology team and for enhancing the existing risk management controls of the company.

Young has over 23 years of experience in the energy industry, where he has had a broad focus in commercial and retail gas and power trading in North America, IT system implementations, and telecom.

Young joins Champion Energy from Utility Management Corporation, and was previously a partner in the energy practice of PA Consulting Group, Inc.
