Dynegy Receives Final Approval for Acquisition of Ameren Plants, Retail Supplier

Dynegy said that the Illinois Pollution Control Board granted a variance for temporary relief from the SO2 portion of the Illinois' Multi-Pollutant Standard air emissions rule, which had been a final condition required for the sale of Ameren Energy Resources to a Dynegy subsidiary. Dynegy now intends to close the transaction in December 2013. As previously reported (click here), the transaction includes Dynegy's acquisition of retail supplier Ameren Energy Marketing Company, which also does business as Homefield Energy.

Texas Draft Would Set REP Deposit Interest Rates

Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas filed a draft order to set the interest rate on customer deposits for the year 2014. The draft would set the customer deposit interest rate at 0.09 percent, versus the current 0.12 percent. The draft would also set the interest rate for calendar year 2014 for overbillings and certain underbillings at 0.15 percent, versus the current 0.21 percent. Docket 41094

FERC Report Details $304 Million in Fines for Market Manipulation, Other Actions

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Office of Enforcement issued a fiscal 2013 annual report, noting settlements of more than $304 million in civil penalties and disgorgement of almost $141 million in unjust profits related to fraud, market manipulation, and other actions. Link to Report
