Spark Energy Enters New Service Area

Spark Energy announced that it has expanded residential natural gas service to the Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) service area.

Rates were not immediately available.

Spark Energy said that it will offer residential SoCalGas customers, "a flat-rate, carbon neutral product."

"Customers can lock-in a flat, monthly fee for their natural gas needs and can offset carbon emissions that result from their natural gas usage," Spark said.

Kira Jordan, Director of Marketing for Spark Energy, said, "Our SoCal product provides the ultimate predictability for natural gas expenses while helping customers offset their carbon footprint."

Based on Spark Energy's residential offering at Pacific Gas & Electric, it is believed the SoCalGas product is a fixed rate product, rather than a "flat bill" product.
