NRG, Comcast Launch "Trial" Of Retail Energy Offer, Using Trade Name "Energy Rewards"

NRG Energy, through Independence Energy Group LLC, and Comcast have launched a "trial" of their retail electricity supply initiative, using the Energy Rewards trade name.
EnergyChoiceMatters.com was first to identify NRG Energy as the retail supplier working with Comcast, and was first to report on NRG's registration of the trade name Energy Rewards for Independence Energy.
Energy Rewards is only available to existing Comcast subscribers.
The trial offer provides customers with a $25 Visa Prepaid Card enrollment bonus, as well as three months of HBO, Showtime, or STARZ. Additionally, the offer includes a free smart thermostat with XFINITY Home, Comcast's home automation and security service
Energy Rewards customers will also earn milestone rewards every six months, such as two free Fandango movie tickets.
Additionally, Energy Rewards customers receive 20% off Fandango gift cards and special access to local movie screenings and sweepstakes
The trial is available to customers at Duquesne Light.
Trial offers include a monthly variable rate, currently priced at 5.93¢/kWh that is guaranteed to be 10% below the Duquesne Light RS Price to Compare for the first six months, as well as a 12-month fixed rate offer of 6.59¢/kWh. There are no early termination fees on either product.
