AP Gas & Electric is working on redeploying its Zip Energy prepaid brand in Texas as summer approaches, APG&E told EnergyChoiceMatters.com.

Currently, APG&E is not marketing to prepaid customers.

Though APG&E has not done a lot with the Zip Energy brand since filing its notice of intent to offer prepaid service with the PUCT in 2012, APG&E has enrolled a "very few" amount of customers with Zip Energy, and continues to serve these customers.

APG&E said that it placed Zip Energy on the backburner as it assembled the right personnel in place to manage the brand.

APG&E said that it is working on developing marketing and strategy for Zip Energy, with the intent to redeploy the brand in the prepaid market later this spring as summer approaches.
