Texas's First Retail Electric Provider Files to Relinquish Certificate

TXI Power Company, which was certificated as an Option 2 Texas retail electric provider, filed at the Public Utility Commission of Texas to relinquish its REP certificate.

TXI Power Company said that it has not served any load since obtaining the certificate and has no immediate plans to serve load. TXI Power Company is an affiliate of cement and energy services company TXI.

TXI Power holds the distinction of holding REP Certificate No. 10000, originally granted on November 2, 2000, making it the first retail provider to receive a certificate under the current certification system
