The Connecticut PURA intends to improve the state's electric supplier rate board, at EnergizeCT.com, with the effort to be informed by "best practices" used in other states.

Most notably, this includes the desire to migrate to a system that would allow supplier to enter rates into the site directly. Under the current process, suppliers file rates with PURA, with DEEP Staff manually inputting the rates onto the board.

At a recent supplier working group meeting, suppliers were asked to gather information from other state rate boards (i.e., sample customer-facing images, website content management systems, etc.) for review by the working group. "The goal is to build on the best practices of other jurisdictions and provide Connecticut consumers a solid resource for supplier rates, offers and information," according to a summary of the meeting.

Suppliers were reminded that the current rate board process allows DEEP three business days to update pricing and suppliers must manage their rates accordingly. Prices posted to the Rate Board must be honored. DEEP will do its best to update rates quickly. DEEP recognizes that this process is not ideal but must remain in place until the migration to supplier-inputted rates.
