NRG's David Crane: We Have Significant Advantage Over Apple, Google, Comcast in Battle For Home

NRG Energy has "significant advantages" over players such as Apple, Google, and Comcast in the battle to offer home services, NRG CEO David Crane said during an investor day presentation yesterday.

"You hear smatterings about it, you hear Google, you hear Apple, you hear Comcast, all trying to look at this space," Crane said.

"We think we have significant advantages over them, notwithstanding their enormous size and capabilities, because we already have the energy relationship with the customer," Crane said.

Crane said that NRG will offer customers a "seamless energy experience", including system power, natural gas, home protection plans, home security, portable power (Goal Zero), and home solar, among other offerings.
