At a recent supplier working group meeting, the Connecticut PURA issued several compliance directives and reminders to suppliers, including direction to timely respond to customer complaints.

At the meeting, PURA Staff said that the Authority's Consumer Affairs unit expects that regulated utility companies respond to complaints and inquiries as soon as possible, but generally within ten business days. If additional time is necessary to resolve a matter, it is necessary to acknowledge that fact to Consumer Affairs along with an expected date of resolution.

Staff reported that there were over 50 separate complaints/inquiries against licensed electric suppliers that have been open for more than 30 days

The meeting also addresses compliance with prior directives concerning changes in the rate board posting process, and changes forthcoming as PURA implements self-posting of rates on the Energize CT site.
