The Connecticut PURA has referred to the Connecticut Attorney General the matter of People's Power & Gas LLC's alleged failure to fulfill its obligation under a settlement to donate $35,000 to Operation Fuel.

People's Power & Gas LLC had been ordered to make a $35,000 donation to the Connecticut fuel fund as part of a settlement with PURA to resolve alleged violations arising from its market exit as a result of defaulting at ISO New England in the winter of 2013-14, and allegations related to its switching practices.

Under the settlement, PPG was ordered to submit, no later than November 14, 2014, a receipt issued by Operation Fuel showing that the Company had made a donation in the amount of $35,000 (Donation). PURA has stated that, to date, PURA has yet to receive this receipt from PPG.

In addition, on April 14, 2015, Operation Fuel updated the Authority regarding the status of the Donation. As alleged by Operation Fuel, in late December 2014 it received a check in the amount of $35,000.

However, Operation Fuel alleged that after two attempts, this check was not honored by the bank, and Operation Fuel was assessed $15.00 in bank fees.

"Accordingly, the Authority shall refer this matter immediately to the Office of the Attorney General for further action against PPG and its officers," PURA directed.
