North American Power is beta-testing a suite of new energy management tools and informational reports, including a report which breaks down by percentage the customer's monthly usage by category and offers a similar granular forecast for the next month's usage.
Notably, North American Power confirmed that it is beta-testing the category usage reports, called "Understandabill", in markets outside of Texas.
While still in testing, the report may classify the customer's usage into categories such as cooling, heating, water heating, washer/dryer (or laundry), lighting, kitchen, appliances, electronics, etc.
Furthermore, in addition to showing prior usage by category, the report predicts what the customer's usage for the next billing will be by category
While some retail providers have launched similar usage reports broken-out by category or appliance in Texas, North American Power is believed to be the first retail supplier to publicly confirm the testing of such reports in markets other than Texas
Given that the program is in beta testing, North American Power did not wish to divulge further details, but said, "North American Power is committed to utilizing innovative thinking and technology to deliver value for our customers. While we are in the process of rolling out this unique benefit, we are very excited about its potential to help our customers better understand their energy costs."
Other tools that are part of North American Power's expanded offering include historical usage comparisons and estimated bill notifications, combined with actionable steps to help lower the customer's usage and bill
North American Power also recently redesigned its website, napower.com
