Liberty Power Holdings, LLC and Prosecutorial Staff of the Connecticut PURA have entered into a settlement under which Liberty Power would make a $10,000 charitable contribution to resolve a Notice of Violation issued by PURA against Liberty Power

As previously reported, the Notice of Violation alleged three instances of slamming due to allegedly invalid TPVs and also alleged certain non-compliant sales calls by Liberty Power. The NOV originally sought a $13,000 civil penalty. Click here for full details of the NOV

To fully resolve all of the alleged violations, Liberty Power under the settlement is to make a charitable non-tax deductible contribution to Operation Fuel Inc. in the amount of $10,000

Liberty Power is to also issue about $68 in customer credits under the settlement

A February 11 draft order by the PURA would adopt the settlement

Liberty Power provided the following statement:

"As part of Liberty Power’s continued support of and cooperation with all the regulatory agencies with which it interacts, the Company and the staff of the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority ('PURA') have agreed on resolution of a pending matter wherein Liberty Power will make a charitable contribution to Operation Fuel. This proposed Agreement is now before PURA for approval, and we believe is a way of demonstrating the Company’s commitment to the State."
