The Pennsylvania PUC intends to launch by the end of March an enhanced, stand-alone version of the PAGasSwitch.com natural gas shopping site that offers more of the functionalities of the current PA Power Switch site

Currently, the PA Gas Switch site operates as a subsite of the PUC site, and offers limited functionality compared to the electric shopping site.

The PUC said via secretarial letter that the new standalone website for www.PAGasSwitch.com will, for the first time, provide a direct link to online enrollment services with natural gas suppliers (NGSs).

Among other things, the new PAGasSwitch will also provide access to shopping information for small and large businesses, with the ability to view up to three NGS offers per Natural Gas Distribution Company (NGDC). Additionally, the enhanced website provides shoppers with increased sorting and filtering options; new headers and links to menus to more easily navigate the website; rate alerts; and an array of detailed shopping information such as updated fact sheets and more in-depth information on fixed versus variable rates.

The Commission is planning to publicly launch the new site by the end of March and said that it would like the site to be up to date, with as many suppliers and offers represented as possible.

NGDCs and NGSs with existing PAGasSwitch accounts were directed to contact Cyndi Page in the Commission’s Office of Communications at cypage@pa.gov or (717) 787-5722 to receive a new password. With the new password, NGDCs and NGSs can proceed to update their information on the new website -- by March 11 if possible. Suppliers without existing PAGasSwitch accounts, and wishing to post offers on PAGasSwitch, should go to the website and click on “Contact the PUC” at the bottom of page. New suppliers should then click on the “Suppliers/Brokers/Marketers New to PaGasSwitch.com” box on the far right, and proceed to submit their information.

NGDCs were requested to update current prices-to-compare for residential and small business service.
