At a regularly scheduled meeting with utility consumer service representatives yesterday, PSC Staff reminded utilities, consistent with current protocols, to direct consumer complaints about deceptive marketing to the PSC, including any such complaints concerning ESCOs
In a statement regarding the meeting, James Denn, Public Information Officer for the NY PSC, stated, "PSC consumer services staff met today at a regularly scheduled meeting with utility consumer service representatives and one of the agenda items was an update on the PSC efforts to strengthen ESCO consumer protections. PSC staff reminded utility staff that existing protocols require the utility to direct consumer complaints about deceptive marketing to the PSC as the authority responsible for enforcement of PSC rules."
