Pennsylvania marked six consecutive months of statewide growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply, but the amount of growth was significantly less than growth in recent months

From late March 2016 to late April 2016 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw a net increase of 2,500 accounts in the number of residential electric customers who were on competitive supply statewide, down from growth of 6,350 accounts from late February 2016 to late March 2016. For the last five months, the monthly net increase in aggregate residential shopping had been about 6,000 accounts per month.

Notably, PPL, which is to see its default service rates further decline on June 1 (click here) saw a decline of 1,100 residential shoppers from late March 2016 to late April 2016
