Sole Remaining Texas TDU With Funds For REP Low-Income Smart Energy Device Reimbursement Program Reports On Remaining Funds

AEP Texas North reported that, as of October 31, 2016, it had $120,000 in funds available under the program which reimbursed retail electric providers for providing free programmable communicating thermostats and in-home displays (collectively, in-home devices) to low-income customers

AEP Texas North's fund started with $200,000 available.

During the six-month period May 1, 2016, through October 31, 2016, AEP Texas North's provided $61,000 in reimbursements to REPs.

During the period May 1, 2016, through October 31, 2016, there were 22 Programmable Communicating Thermostats (PCTs) and 192 In-Home Devices (IHDs) distributed in TNC's service territory for a total of 214 devices.

AEP Texas North is the only remaining TDU with funds available under the program. CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, AEP Texas Central, and Texas-New Mexico Power have exhausted their funds, while Oncor expects that it will exhaust its fund as it pays November reimbursements to REPs
