Pennsylvania Sees Monthly Residential Shopping Grow By 75%

During March, the net monthly growth in Pennsylvania residential electricity shopping increased 75% from the February growth, according to the latest stats from the Pennsylvania PUC
From late February 2017 to late March 2017 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of electric customers on competitive supply increase by nearly 3,000 accounts, some 75% higher than the monthly growth of 1,700 accounts from late January 2017 to late February 2017
Responsible for the higher growth was a large increase in residential shopping gains at PECO compared to February (1,200 accounts in March, similar to January's growth, versus the muted growth of 300 accounts in February), as well as material increases in growth at Met-Ed and Penn Power.
PPL continues to see a net decline in residential shopping, with a loss of nearly 2,000 accounts on competitive supply during March
