ERCOT To Post List, Contact Info Of Retail Providers Seeking To Acquire Books Of Business From Other REPs

ERCOT in a recent market notice stated that stakeholders and Public Utility Commission of Texas (Commission) Staff have requested that ERCOT create and maintain a list of Competitive Retailer (CR) contact information (Acquisition Transfer Contact List) on ERCOT’s public website that would include contact information for CRs that may be interested in acquiring another CR’s book of business.

ERCOT stated in the notice that it is currently working on a draft Retail Market Guide Revision Request (RMGRR) to formalize a permanent process for maintaining such a list.

"However, given the impending summer season, stakeholders and Commission Staff have asked that ERCOT implement this request as soon as possible," ERCOT said in the notice

Accordingly, ERCOT on June 1 requested that CRs that wish to provide Acquisition Transfer Contact information should email an email address included in the market notice no later than June 15, 2018

The information must be provided to ERCOT by the Authorized Representative or Backup Authorized Representative of the CR wishing to provide Acquisition Transfer Contact information.

Providing Acquisition Transfer Contact information to ERCOT for posting is voluntary on the part of the CR.

Further, ERCOT makes no representations with respect to the information provided in the Acquisition Transfer Contact List, nor assumes any responsibility concerning the accuracy of information provided in the list.

ERCOT will add the Acquisition Transfer Contact List to the List of Certified Competitive Retailers on the Market Participants page of the ERCOT website following the June 15 deadline, and will provide CRs with a monthly informational Market Notice and opportunity to provide/update the Acquisition Transfer Contact information. The list will be available until formal processes and procedures are implemented through the forthcoming RMGRR.
