Heightened Rate Of Statewide Decline In Residential Electric Shopping Continues In Pennsylvania

August was another month in which the net number of residential electric customers on competitive supply decreased by more than 10,000 customers, according to the latest stats on PA Power Switch

From late July to late August (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of residential electric customers on competitive supply statewide decrease by 12,400 accounts. That's in-line with the monthly net declines in residential shopping seen since May of this year

From late July to late August, six of the seven large EDCs saw a net decline in residential shopping

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large utility from late July 2018 to late August 2018 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:
