BP Working To Launch Retail Energy Supplier In U.S.

BP has formed BP Energy Retail LLC and is applying for retail energy supplier licenses in several U.S. states

BP Energy Retail LLC has applied for FERC electric market-based rate authority

In its FERC application, BP Energy Retail stated, "BP Energy Retail is a retail energy marketing company that intends to sell electricity products directly to commercial and industrial customers and residential customers."

"BP Energy Retail will initially provide services in the following markets: Illinois, Ohio, Texas, California, and Pennsylvania and is in the process of applying for licenses in those states," BP said in its FERC MBR application
