Texas Broker Registers Several "Tesla" Assumed Names With Secretary Of State, PUC

SetMeUpEnergy Services, LLC has registered the following assumed names with the Texas Secretary of State, and has filed an amendment to its Texas electric broker registration to reflect such assumed names as well: "Tesla Power Texas"; "Tesla Power"; "Tesla Power TX"; and "Tesla Energy."

As was exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com on August 16, Tesla Energy Ventures, LLC, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tesla Energy Operations, Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tesla, Inc. (the electric vehicle manufacturer and clean energy company), applied for an Option 1 Texas retail electric provider certificate. In such REP application, which is pending before the PUC, Tesla Energy Ventures sought to use the trade name "Tesla."

Notably, the assumed name "Tesla Energy", one of the assumed names which SetMeUpEnergy Services registered on September 9, 2021, also shows as "in existence" and "in use" on the Texas Secretary of State's website for Tesla Energy Operations, Inc.
