Large Generator Forms New Retail Supplier Focused On Service Opt-Out Aggregations

Calpine recently created a new retail supplier named Calpine Community Energy, LLC (self-abbreviated as CCE) to serve both mass market and large C&I customers.

Calpine Community Energy filed an initial registration as a New York ESCO

"CCE will solely provide ESCO services to CCAs [community choice aggregations]," Calpine Community Energy said in its New York registration, as it did not seek to serve customers (or offer any specific products) outside of the CCAs

"CCE is established solely to serve CCAs in New York and other states," the company further said

Calpine owns various other retail suppliers, including Champion Energy and North American Power

Calpine Energy Solutions is already active in serving various forms of CCAs
